Here is an insight into how my sketchbook is integral to my art... Below are pages from one of many sketchbooks I have created over many years. I always have a sketchbook on my person, ready to record thoughts ideas and inspiration. It doesn't demand anything from me; no judgement or pressure! it allows me to express myself and record what is in my head and heart at that moment. A safe place! A visual diary I can refer to and one where I become aware of my unconscious style of working... with lines and marks often repeating from page to page, identifying those that I love and those I don't.
